'Europa-Park Children's House Little Heroes'

In 2025, a new place for celebrating life will be created at the Europa-Park Resort.

As a central charity project to mark Europa-Park's 50th birthday, a new building and guest house complex at the Camp Resort will be home to a special children's house for ‘Little Heroes’. With the children's house, the Mack family wants to create a place where families can regain strength and lightness and find a sense of normality after their child has suffered from cancer. The children's home is being realised with the support of ‘RTL – Wir helfen Kindern’ and other donors. Construction is due to start in mid-2025 and the opening is planned for mid-2026.

Together with their parents and siblings, ‘Little Heroes’ can enjoy the Western flair of the Camp Resort for a week and leave the stressful hospital routine behind them. The children's house can accommodate up to five families at a time.

A place of rest and joy for families in difficult times

The stay at the 'Europa-Park Little Heroes Children's House' is completely free of charge for the children and their family and lasts for five days. The region offers countless opportunities to rediscover the joy of life, from the many attractions and offers at Europa-Park and the Rulantica water world to excursions to the Taubergießen nature reserve or the cities of Freiburg and Strasbourg.

The families are looked after by retired Europa-Park employees on a voluntary basis, who have received special training and an introduction to the types of illnesses, how the children react to them and what needs to be taken into account during their care. The 'Europa-Park Little Heroes Children's House' is professionally supported by the Syltklinik, a modern paediatric oncology clinic for family-oriented rehabilitation in Wennigenstedt on the island of Sylt. It also receives support from the German Childhood Cancer Foundation in Bonn. The ‘Europa-Park Little Heroes Children's House’ is being realised in close cooperation with the charitable association ‘Santa Isabel e.V. - Hilfe für Kinder und Familien’, founded by Marianne Mack in 2008.

For Europa-Park owner Roland Mack, this is a project very close to his heart:

‘For the 50th anniversary of Europa-Park, we decided to create a permanent institution for families with a difficult burden to bear, in addition to the many major social initiatives. The target group are children with cancer who are slowly returning to normal life after their serious illness. A week-long stay with us at Europa-Park and at the Rulantica water world, together with their families, is designed to give them back their zest for life and help them find their way back to normality. Especially the support within the family after the difficult burden of cancer is of great importance. Not only the sick child itself, but also its brothers and sisters and parents have a large load behind themselves. Our goal: Further support of the healing by joy of life.’

Foundation RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.

The new Children's House is being built in close cooperation and with the support of the foundation ‘RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.’ (the RTL children's charity). The main aim of the foundation is to provide sustainable help for hundreds of thousands of children and young people in need. Since 1996, the foundation has donated more than €287 million to thousands of selected children's aid projects in Germany and around the world.
‘Together with Europa-Park in Rust, DJ BoBo and the Mack family, we can achieve a great deal. At the Little Heroes Children's House, families with seriously ill children are given a new joy of life, which will make a decisive contribution to the healing process of these children. The Mack family has not only created an incredibly entrepreneurial life's work, but has also shown a huge heart for so many children for many, many years. The foundation ‘RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.’ foundation is planning a long-term co-operation with Europa-Park. This will be a fantastic alliance of help,‘ says Wolfram Kons, Chairman of the ‘RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.' foundation.’

DJ BoBo – the patron of the Children's House

It is a personal concern of mine to help families and children who have experienced difficult times [...]. I have been friends with the Mack family and Europa-Park for decades. This Children's House is a brilliant idea that I am happy to support.
