Since 1994, the Thea Award has been presented by the non-profit organisation 'Themed Entertainment Association' to honour outstanding achievements in development, concept and execution in theme parks. The Thea Award is considered one of the most significant awards in the entertainment industry.
2025 - Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement - Attraction
The rollercoaster innovation Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac impressed the international jury of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and was honoured for outstanding performance in the ‘Attraction’ category.
What is particularly noteworthy here is that rollercoasters are rarely honoured with a TEA Thea Award. The prestigious award is one of the highest honours in the entertainment industry and was announced at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando, the world's largest trade fair for the leisure industry.
The jury was particularly impressed by the overall experience - from the storytelling and theming to the rollercoaster itself. It offers numerous innovative ride elements, such as the world's steepest launch at 105 degrees, as well as fascinating storytelling, creating a unique overall experience. The ‘Stryker Coaster’ was developed by MACK Rides.
2024 - Award for Eatrenalin
- Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has honoured the restaurant world-first Eatrenalin with the coveted TEA Thea Award in the ‘Experiential Dining Attraction’ category.

2023 - International honour for Roland Mack
- On 15.04.2023, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) awarded the popular 'Thea Award' to Roland Mack. The successful entrepreneur from Baden, Germany, is the first ever theme park owner to receive the 'Buzz Price Award' for his life's work as well as his outstanding entrepreneurial achievements and his engagement for the industry. The award was handed over during a gala event with more than 1,000 international guests in the Disney Hotel in Los Angeles. The Thea Awards have been given since 1994 and recognise people and companies for their outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry.
Roland Mack is the first European to be inducted into the 'IAAPA Hall of Fame' as well as receive the 'Buzz Price Award'.

2020 – Snorri Touren – Category: Outstanding Achievement - Attraction, Limited Budget
- The themed ride Snorri Touren in the Scandinavian themed area has received the prestigious 'TEA Award' in the category 'Outstanding achievement, attraction with limited budget'. The experts particularly praised the excellent further development of a classic family attraction in combination with state-of-the-art projection technology and also added: "The tight schedule for the construction of such a high-quality attraction deserves the highest recognition. To complete the building, theming and installation of the ride in just over a year is an amazing achievement."
2017 – ARTHUR – Category: Best Ride System
- The popular family attraction 'ARTHUR - In the Minimoys Kingdom' was received the prestigious THEA Award in the category 'Best Ride System', one of the highest accolades in the entertainment industry.
2013 – Category: Best Amusement Park Worldwide
- Both the loving design that goes into the fifteen European themed areas and the development of a popular short-haul destination prompted the TEA committee to honour the park for its outstanding achievements. The variety and attention to detail offered at Europa-Park is extraordinary, praises the TEA.
2012 – FoodLoop – Category: Restaurants
- In April 2012, the looping restaurant FoodLoop was awarded the Thea award in the Gastronomy category in Los Angeles . "At FoodLoop, your food has as much fun as you do" explained the jury of the 'Themed Entertainment Association'.
